It is our belief that any child who has graduated from St. Maria Goretti's should be able to fit into any secondary school here in Nigeria or abroad without any difficulty. We thus run a double-edged academic curriculum-the Nigerian syllabus combined with the British National Curriculum. this has proved to provide a sound academic foundation upon which further education can rest solidly.

As a result of the solid academic foundation given to our pupils, we have pupils who have graduated from this school excelling in some of the best secondary schools both in Nigeria and abroad; e.g Downe House School, Berkshire, England; Lyola Jesuit College, Abuja; Igbenidion Secondary School, Olashore International School, Adesoye College Offa; Air Force Military School, Jos; Kings College Lagos, etc.

The core subjects taught are English Language, Mathematics, science, Geography, History and Social Studies. Our strong academic curriculum is taught by highly qualified professional and dedicated teachers. These teachers instruct with the aid of modern teaching aids like television/videos, Projectors which project curriculum project topics from CD ROMs through computers on to the walls, well equipped library and computer rooms where pupils are taught study skills and are encouraged to take responsibility for their own study. The French Language is also given a lot of prominence in the curriculum.

The pupils are exposed to a wide range of primary school subjects and are given the chance to explore a variety of skills and areas of knowledge. Pupils are encouraged to investigate the scientific, the practical, the creative and the aesthetic. This enables each child to discover his or her talents.
